We like robots as much as the next human. Bender, R2D2, Metal Mickey and the Cylons are all cool enough. So’s the terminator. Is that machine in Superman III a robot? Maybe.
But roooby needed it’s own robot, and so we created rooobybot.
rooobybots prime directive is to take over the world, so in that way it’s a lot like Starbucks.
It also checks up on the latest trends out there in the real world, and tweets them out with direct links through to real-time video and images from roooby search. Neat, huh?
Here’s an example:

rooobybot is still learning and, like a puppy, might make mistakes - so please stick with him/her/it.
More updates from rooobybot as we get ‘em!
So the beta went (semi) public on Twitter today, and the interest was around images of Michael Jackson’s memorial service. Not a happy topic for many people, but the real time images from the Staples Centre were interesting to see.
@thekenjones is now on board helping out in all kinds of social and promotional ways, and over the coming days we hope to slowly but surely gain interest, as well as bug fix and introduce new features.
It was @thekenjones who coined the term “real time social image search”. Wordy, yes, but spot on too.
As ever, we will keep you posted here on the blog.
